Bruce has held a wide range of senior leadership roles across both government (UK and Scottish) and the private sector. He is currently Chairman of a technology company and a consultant in the legal and financial services sectors.
Bruce served as President of the Law Society of Scotland in 2013-4 and is an office bearer in the Society of Writers to Her Maqjesty’s Signet, the world’s oldest professional body and the birthplace of the solicitors’ professon.
He formerly served as Deputy Keeper (GC and Deputy CEO) at Registers of Scotland, Legal Sexcretary to the Lord President of the Court of Session (the head of Scotland’s judiciary) and Head of Rural Communities at The Scottish Government, dealing with tenant farming, crofting, land reform and EU grant funding programmes.
