Claire started her career in private practice in the City, and in Hong Kong, before moving into industry with National Power plc in 1992. She joined Vodafone in 2000, and held a number of roles covering both  corporate and commercial work, and undertook a short secondment to Vodafone New Zealand during that time. Her final role was Commercial Legal Director for Vodafone Group, where she had responsibility for a team of 50 lawyers in 5 jurisdictions, supporting all of Vodafone’s global commercial activities. Claire then joined Siemens in 2012 in a senior leadership role for lawyers and contract managers across the UK and Scandinavia. She left Siemens in September 2016 from her then role as General Counsel for GB&I. While at Siemens Claire was also a Non Executive Director at the South Central Ambulance Service.

Her current role is as General Counsel and Company Secretary for St Andrew’s Healthcare,  a charitable organisation providing psychiatric services in England. Its headquarters is at St Andrew’s Hospital in Northampton. The charity dates back to before the hospital opened in 1838 and is by far the largest mental health facility in UK, providing national specialist services for adolescents, men, women and older people with mental illness, learning disability, brain injury, autism and dementia.

Claire is also a member of the Audit and Scrutiny Committee of Oxford University and a Trustee of LawWorks.
