Tom’s  current  role  involves  leading  the  company’s  Customer  Support,  Cloud  Enablement, Platform as a Service, Corporate Development, HR, IT, Legal, Facilities and Procurement teams. Tom is also responsible for aspects of the company’s relationships with investors. Between April 2015 and February 2016, Tom was responsible for the company’s Finance function.

Since 2012, Misys has gone through a programme of transformation and has delivered very strong performance, achieving software revenue growth and substantial improvements in non- financial measures of health, such as product quality and employee satisfaction (80% would recommend it as a place to work).

In 2012, Tom was Acting Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Misys plc, then a FTSE 250 company. Tom led the company and its 4,200 employees through a transition period and created a set of strategic options for the business, culminating in the negotiation and execution of the successful sale to Vista Equity Partners.

After joining Misys as EVP, General Counsel & Company Secretary in 2009, Tom helped shape and execute inorganic growth initiatives including the disposal of Misys’s majority stake in the NASDAQ listed Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions, the return of over $1B to shareholders, and the acquisition of Sophis for €440M.

Prior  to  that,  Tom  spent  eight  years  with  GE  Healthcare,  a division  of  the  General  Electric Company, in a series of legal roles, ultimately as General Counsel, EMEA, responsible for legal issues in a business with revenues of more than $5B.

Tom began his career in the City of London.  He is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales. He graduated from Oxford University with a BA (Hons) in Metallurgy & Materials Science. His final year  was  spent  researching  the  behaviour  of  magnetic  flux  in  high-temperature   ceramic superconductors.
