Course Content
This highly participative workshop is based on the theory of principled
negotiation promoted by Harvard Law School and the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology through the Harvard Negotiation Project. The content
has been adapted and tailored for in-house lawyers and is supported
by a number of interactive case studies. The seven elements of principled
negotiation are:
- Understanding interests
- Identifying options
- Finding best alternatives
- Creating legitimacy
- Developing communication
- Building relationships
- Keeping to commitments
Each element will be considered in detail with interactive case studies
to support the messages given.
