“…I would like to say a huge thank you to all those who were involved in organising this memorable and impactful event. It surpassed my expectations and generated animated, useful and topical debates which I’ve taken much away from.”
“I would like to say a huge thank you to all those who were involved in organising this memorable and impactful event. It surpassed my expectations and generated animated, useful and topical debates which I’ve taken much away from.”
“Having attended a few residential and day courses aimed at in house lawyers, this is by miles the best one.”
“This was genuinely one of the best legal conferences that I have been on. It was informative, engaging, inclusive, and a brilliant opportunity to meet people in a similar situation doing a similar role.”
“Wonderful event! Truly informative and inspirational.”
Feedback from delegates attending the LBCambridge event
An introduction to LBCambridge:
LBCambridge is perhaps the most joyful thing we do. It has changed the way in-house lawyers think about their roles and brought together a wise and generous faculty of presenters and facilitators to share career-shaping insights in a unique and beautiful setting.
The event is perfect for lawyers new to in-house roles, but will also be valuable to those in-house lawyers who would like a comprehensive refresher on skills and issues relevant to the sector.
The inaugural programme was in September 2006 and it has been held in April and September in every year since. The programme attracts in-house lawyers from around the world; every event is sold out and for many teams it is a fixture in their team development planning. We put our heart and soul into every event and our promise is to keep LBCambridge as the best event of its kind anywhere in the world.
The programme fulfils four key objectives:
To highlight and develop soft skills –
Influencing, relationship management, team working, communication etc
To focus on operational effectiveness –
Workflow management, prioritisation, knowledge management, outsourcing strategies etc
To develop strategic awareness –
Alignment, role definition, value articulation
Putting personal development at the heart of a successful career –
Building a focussed pragmatic and thought personal development plan
The two-day residential programme is held at the historic and beautiful Queens’ College Cambridge.
One head of legal services who had her lawyers attend the event, said:
“I just wanted to say thank you for the excellent few days you have just provided to our lawyers. I wanted to especially mention N. She is a very capable lawyer who had got a bit lost amidst the high pressure of (her role) and I felt would benefit from the LBC treatment. She has come back to the office having “rediscovered her sparkle” and with a “range of tools to help improve her as a lawyer” as a result of a “life changing few days”.
This event has become a benchmark for the in-house profession, a fixture in the training calendar and the “must do” event for in-house lawyers to get in-depth, insightful and current skills development. Delegates come from all over the world to join the programme – from the US, Europe, Africa and Asia – something that we find both humbling and enriching.
We are supported by an expert editorial board of current and former General Counsel who help shape content and who facilitate sessions at the programme. Their efforts are supported by nationally and internationally renowned speakers across different business disciplines.
Paul Gilbert, LBC Wise Counsel chief executive, explains: “There is nothing like this available today; not only do we bring best practice ideas for our delegates to debate, but we also have this fantastic faculty of experienced senior in-house lawyers to share their expertise in a genuinely inspirational setting”.
“..just got a promotion to Head of legal….your course was totally instrumental in me turning around my attitude to some areas!” ML delegate
