Alasdair is a General Counsel with 25 years’ experience in some of the world’s most successful life sciences companies and law firms. He trained and qualified at Linklaters. A life sciences graduate, he has a fascination with the life sciences and high tech, and the interface with innovation, commercialization, law and governance. He is passionate about bringing better health solutions to the world and making a difference through entrepreneurial and charitable endeavours.
For 7 years until 2019 he served as General Counsel EMEA for Thermo Fisher Scientific (the world’s largest life sciences tools and healthcare technologies company) during which time the company more than doubled in size via acquisitions. He developed and grew a strong legal team across EMEA and through strategic transformation and change management they built a pan-regional legal services operation with technology-enabled process solutions, creating significant competitive business advantage.
In recognition of his team’s contribution, in 2018 Alasdair was awarded the prestigious European General Counsel of the Year award from the Association of Corporate Counsel; having accomplished what had he set out to achieve, Alasdair is currently undertaking an Executive MBA at London Business School.
