Armed with a degree in French from Leeds University and following a two year post lecturing in British Civilisation at Universite Paris-Est Creteil, Helen trained with Baker & McKenzie in London where upon qualifying she joined the corporate department.

She moved in-house with BBA Group PLC in 1997, managing the legal requirements of its aviation services & products division. In 2001, she established the legal/company secretarial department of listed online travel agency ebookers plc as its first General Counsel & Company Secretary. Following the sale of ebookers to Cendant Corporation for £227million, Helen set up and managed the legal/company secretarial department of international employee incentive and performance improvement business The Grass Roots Group PLC in 2005 and became an executive director of the PLC board in 2008.

Helen then became a Senior Advisor to NSPCC to gain expereince in an entirely different sector before moving back to a commercial role when in 2015 she was appointed General Counsel to Dufry Group, a global travel retailer with operations in 58 countries.

Helen left her role with Dufry in 2018 and is presently contemplating her next career adventure.
