Jonathan started his career as a marketing manager for a small marketing boutique and counted a number of high profile brands, such as Nestle, as his clients. After qualifying as a solicitor and spending some time in private practice, it was this prior experience of getting to the heart of business that convinced him that in-house law was his ideal career route. At that time he joined JD Wetherspoon PLC. Almost ten years later he moved to Value Retail PLC (better known for its Bicester Village shopping outlet). He joined Copart, in 2014,as General Counsel to lead the legal function in the UK, Europe, Middle-East and India and in 2016 Jonathan was appointed to the board of Copart’s various European companies.
When he’s not promoting how in-house lawyers should be known for their business skills as well as their legal contribution, Jonathan, as an avid “petrol-head”, can regularly be found at one of Europe’s leading race tracks.
