After completing a degree in History, Nick decided to pursue a financial training. Several years after qualification as a chartered accountant, Nick took on the job of UK Treasurer at United Biscuits, a multi-national food manufacturer with a collection of brands including McVities and Crawfords.

A move to Marks & Spencer coincided with Black Monday in October 1987 and he spent seven years at one of the UK’s best known retailing brands, initially as Treasury manager, then as a Financial Controller working alongside the store development team and finally as Financial Planning Manager.

An interest in property then led to leading to sixteen years at Hammerson plc, one of the UK’s largest REITs, first as Group Financial Controller with an international remit and then as UK Finance Director working alongside the asset management and development teams.
