At Queens' College, Cambridge in September, 36 in-house lawyers will be coached in an interactive two day event led by some of the most respected names in the field.

The event is aimed specifically for those lawyers new to in-house roles
or who are contemplating a move in-house, but it will also be valuable to
those in-house lawyers who would like a comprehensive refresher on skills
and issues relevant to the sector.
Paul
Gilbert, Chief Executive of LBC Wise Counsel, said, "This event
will set a benchmark for the in-house profession – I want it to become
a fixture in the training calendar and the "must do" event for
in-house lawyers"
LBC Wise Counsel have set up an expert editorial board of General Counsel who
will help to shape the best practice content and also facilitate sessions on
the programme itself. Their efforts will be supported by nationally renowned
speakers across different subject disciplines.
Paul explained "There is nothing like this available today, not
only will we bring best practice ideas for our delegates to debate, but we
also have this fantastic faculty of experienced senior lawyers to share their
expertise in a genuinely inspirational setting".
The comprehensive programme will be designed to fulfil four key objectives:
TO HIGHLIGHT AND DEVELOP SOFT SKILLS –
Presentation skills, relationship
management, negotiation and communication skills, team working
TO FOCUS ON OPERATIONAL IMPERATIVES –
workflow management, use of
IT, knowledge management, outsourcing strategies
TO DEVELOP EARLY AWARENESS OF STRATEGIC MATTERS –
legal risk and
how to manage it, articulating value, developing the importance of the role
TO ENSURE THAT PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT IS A PRIORITY –
in particular
to understand career and personal development in the context of flat business
structures
The programme is accredited for 16 hours CPD.
